Son of Sardaar 2: Both Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 hit the screens on this Friday, August 1, and both films were dreaming of a box office nightmare. However at the end of Day 1, it is Son of Sardaar 2 which has edged ahead in terms of the box office collections.box office race.
Day 1 Collection: Son of Sardaar 2 vs Dhadak 2
Based on preliminary figures released by Sacnilk, Son of Sardaar 2 had raked in 2.41 crore by 5:05 PM, on opening day. The film did not have an explosive opening but it still was leading Dhadak 2. The industry specialists had established that the film could be anything between 6.25 to 6.75 crore but the final collection did not make it.
To put things into perspective, the first Son of Sardaar (2012) had earned a mammoth ₹10.80 crore on Day 1, and Raid 2 starring Ajay Devgan a few months ago had earned ₹19.25 crore on an opening day..25 crore.
A Star-Studded Comeback with Mixed Reviews
A massive 100 crore budget film, Son of Sardaar 2 will see Ajay Devgn back in his popular role of Jassi. He is accompanied by Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh among many other people in a comedy action entertainer to the fullest.
Some fans are enjoying the masala vibes whereas others feel that the first film has the acclaim. However, the reactions of the audience differ.

The surprises didn’t stop at all when suddenly, in the finale, Rohit Shetty appeared, in a 7-second cameo at the end of the film! In a pyrotechnic proposal moment in which Jassi scribbles out, in bold letters, “Will You Marry Me?” a nearby car burns, and explodes in flames. And that is when Rohit Shetty of the other building comes running in shouting, “Who has blown off my car?”my car?”

Dhadak 2: Emotional but Underwhelming?
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is a spiritual successor to 2018 Dhadak movie. It is a product of Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures. Whereas the first one featured Ishaan Khatter and the debut of Janhvi Kapoor, the second features a new couple consisting of Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Despite a passionate storyline, some critics felt the performances lacked depth and impact, especially compared to the raw emotion of the first.
Other Box Office Rivals Still Going Strong
Let’s not forget — both new releases are facing tough competition from holdovers like Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Kingdom, which are still performing well at the box office.
