Plot Summary
Damodar Raju is an ex-encounter specialist, now the family man, peaceably living with his kids and his wife. And now, his ex-girlfriend, DCP Meenakshi, re-enters. Raju is stuck between Meenakshi and the existing family and has a mission to be carried out and perfectly balanced both sides. What ensued during that period was a combination of family drama, action, and comedy.
Performances
Venkatesh rules this role where he brings his humorousness and has emotional appeal, which is apparent in the character of Raju. His on-screen expertise with Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary keeps the target audience thrilled to the cor. Aishwarya Rajesh highlights her brilliant performance as an innocent and possessive spouse, while Meenakshi gives justice to the role of the ex-girlfriend. The child actor who played Bulliraju is highly amusing, particularly in the first half.
Positives:
- Venkatesh’s comic timing and entertaining dialogues.
- Songs by Bheems Ceciroleo, particularly “Godari Gattu Meeda,” which adds to the festive feel.
- Aishwarya Rajesh’s portrayal of an innocent wife.
- Comedy sequences involving Bulliraju.
Negatives:
- Forced comedy and lack of a proper story in the second half.
- Over-the-top sequences involving Upendra Limaye.
- Logic gaps and rushed writing towards the end.
Verdict
“Vasthunnam Sankranthiki,” entertaining the family, was having balanced entertainment of humor, sentiments, and action in the first half, but with an average second half that seems drawn out, with less energy present. However, this is likely to overcome the minor setbacks and emerge with a good result as family watch during a light-hearted and joyful festive season. This film goes well for celebration films that families will enjoy with light-hearted fun. Near-to-moderate in terms of story depth, nevertheless, at least it qualifies as good holiday-couching material for family viewing.
Final Word: Just a decent entertainer to have around in festival times with family.
